It was the first episode in the Advanced Generation of Pokémon TV shows called ‘Get The Show On The Road!’. After a long journey with many ups and downs, Ash eventually finds himself in the land of Hoenn with a sick Pikachu that he must find help for urgently. There is no local Pokémon Center so he calls up Professor Birch to ask for help. May is already on her way to see the professor as she needs to pick up her starter Pokémon. She is the daughter of the Petalburg Gym Leader Norman, and although she’s not a massive Pokémon fan, she sees battling Pokémon as a way of doing more travelling!
Things don’t go according to plan, though, and Professor Birch ends up being chased by a pack of Poochyena and Pikachu goes crazy and bites Ash’s arm. It’s while he’s being rescued by Birch that Ash and May first meet. The two of them must go to Oldale Town’s Pokémon Center to register for the league, but May’s bike is broken after Pikachu zapped it! Instead, May asks if she can tag along with Ash. Little did he know that by agreeing, the two of them would be travelling together for many adventures to come!
This moment is a great one!

The show first starts off with a new trainer called May riding her bike to Littleroot Town but crashes because a Duskull scares her. She keeps riding until she sees Littleroot Town and sees a ship.Meanwhile in the ship, Ash is worried because pikachu was having an overcharge of electricity because of Team Rocket and their magnetic waves atracting Pikachu to it. Ash asked the man in the uniform if their was a pokemon centre but their wasn’t any so Ash watched the Wingull fly past and decided to call Professor Birch. His assistant told him that he was playing with pokemon and he was going to be on his way. Professor Birch came in a Green Jeep and told him that this was a serious cause. He told him that it causes the confusion status so Pikachu uses thunderbolt unexpectedly. Professor birch drove down the hill and drove past a swarm of Beautifly flying past. they reach the lab and his assistant walks them in. Professor Birch then straps Pikachu to this machine but it explodes and Pikachu jumps out the window in confusion. Ash jumps out after it and Professor Birch jumps ou too with three pokeballs. His assistant told him that those were for May’s and she needs to choose one. Birch told him that she has to wait at the lab. Birch caught up with Ash and they decided to split paths. Meanwhile,May arrived at the lab and the assistant told her that she had to wait. May was impatient so she rode off to find Professor Birch. The assistant sighed as kids just run off. Professor Birch calls to Pikachu but slips and falls on top of a Poochyena. He apologises to it but howls and a pack of them arrive. They start chasing the professor. Ash calls to Pikachu and sees it and walks over to it. Pikachu who sees the shadow of Ash Zaps him and tells it not to worry(Top Right Corner). May sees the professor hanging on a tree surrounding him(Top Left Corner). He tells her to throw one pokeball and Mudkip pops out. Birch commands her to say Water Gun and she does only to get squirted. He tells it to use that move and the Poochyena start running away. They caught up with Ash and he jumps off a cliff with Pikachu and catches hold of a branch. They throw a rope and Ash climbs up while Pikachu bites and zaps him. He tells him no to worry but its Team Rocket with a red robot grabs Pikachu and sucks its electricity up acidentally healing it. With a thunderbolt Team Rocket blasts off into the sky. They return to the lab and heal pikachu while May chooses a pokemon(Bottom Right Corner). She doesn’t want Treecko because it looks creepy, Mudkip because it used water Gun but she chooses Torchic. She inspects her bike but forgets about it(Bottom Left corner). She asks to go with Ash and he says yes. They leave to odale Town.
