We love Skylanders here at Pocket World Towers – cool, collectable figures that can be sat on their Portal of Power and enter any version of the Spyro’s Adventure game. It’s just genius! And now these creatures packed with special powers have a new game where they must save Skylands from a bunch of escaped trolls. Designed especially for the iOS systems – iPhone, iPad and iPod touch – you start out with Trigger Happy as your character and can unlock more by picking up coins and scoring highly, or by entering the codes that come with each Skylander figure.

The action is both simple and frantic as you shoot the trolls (and sheep!) on the screen before they get you or you accidentally hit a bomb. By tapping the screen you can target individually, or you can slide your finger across to take out lines of enemies with a single combo attack. However, you have to be careful not to get hit by their weapons or not to hit the spiky red Chaos Skulls, as these will end your game immediately.

At the end of each level is a boss battle where the action gets even more frantic but the rewards are also greater. The game has lots of magic item boosts to keep things interesting – Anvil Rain and Time Twister were our favourites – they really supercharge your adventure! There is something in this little mobile treat to satisfy even the most hardcore Skylanders fan. What are you waiting for? Stop sending texts and get blasting now!
