We’ve already heard about the exciting Wii U, coming to a console shop near us all this Christmas. But Sony isn’t sitting back and doing nothing – they have a new-look PlayStation3 coming out on 28 September. Actually, there are two versions of the smaller, new-look PS3. 28 September is when a 500GB Hard Disk Drive version launches, but then on 12 October they have a 12GB flash memory version coming out too!

All of the internal gubbins of the PS3 have been changed making this new version half the weight of the original (which was quite a block of a console really), and 25% lighter than the previous slimmed down PS3. What this new console offers, as well as a wealth of great games for all the family, is a brilliant way to watch Blu-ray movies at home.

Prices in the USA start at $269, with no word on a UK price point just yet. What a perfect way to enjoy LittleBigPlanet and the new LittleBigPlanet Karting this Christmas – these games are big favourites of the Pocket World team!
